Fund Accountant

Driehaus Capital Management is a privately-held investment management firm that manages global, emerging markets, US growth equity and alternative investment strategies. The firm has a diverse institutional client base comprised of corporate and public pensions, endowments, foundations, sub-advisory, family offices, wealth managers and financial advisors, globally.   

We are seeking a Fund Accountant with at least 3-5 years of applicable experience.  Primary responsibilities inclusive of, but not limited to:

  • Compiles the monthly and annual financial statements for most investment LPs and LLCs, both domestic and international. As part of this, reconciles in-house reports to custodian reports, researches and resolves discrepancies, assembles documentation, posts journal entries, allocates partners’ capital, management fees and incentives/performance fees (if any) to partners through an in-house system, prepares and enters NAV adjustments to the Dailies and generates performance reports.
  • Prepares audit workpapers and formulates and provides responses to auditor questions for investment LPs and LLCs.
  • Determines month-end funding needs related to LP and LLC capital activity and vendor invoices and initiates payment.
  • Provides Relationship Management with reconciled and reviewed monthly financials and quarterly rates of return for actively marketed limited partnerships. Generates and reviews accuracy of financial information in confirmation letters and quarterly partner statements.
  • Conducts monthly client account reconciliation for assigned separate account clients.
  • Works with fund administrator and in-house Operations personnel to reconcile mutual fund NAV related to funds holding complex securities to ensure security level profit and loss is accurate for the Research teams.  Works closely with those groups to resolve complex pricing, corporate action, settlement and trade related issues for those funds.
  • Reviews monthly valuation packets for the assigned mutual funds to ensure appropriate oversight of the fund administrators.
  • Assists the Director of Fund Administration in the calculation of management fees and performance for any Collective Investment Trust and expense payment process for the mutual funds.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the Controller, Director of Fund Administration or CFO.

Knowledge and Skill Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance is preferred.) 
  • 3-5 years relevant industry experience. 
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting for investments, including derivatives, partnership allocation processes, operations and functions is required.
  • Familiarity with portfolio reporting and accounting systems is essential.  (Knowledge of Advent Geneva is a plus.)
  • Team player and collaborator with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Organized and deadline oriented.
  • Able to think independently, make decisions quickly and have the confidence and drive to be successful.
