Our Management Committee is comprised of senior-level representatives of the firm’s core business units. This group is responsible for managing the firm and guiding its strategic initiatives, with an emphasis on performance, integrity, transparency, and the alignment of the firm’s interest with those of our clients.

Rob Gordon

President and Chief Executive Officer

Rob Gordon is responsible for all aspects of the firm including investment management, marketing and relationship management, and the overall operating environment. Additionally, he is charged with ensuring the long-term viability of the firm as an independent, focused money management organization. He has 32 years of investment related experience.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management in 2006, Mr. Gordon was formerly president and CEO of Banc of America Capital Management, the investment arm of Bank of America. He has also held management roles at ARIS Capital Management, a New York based fund of hedge funds, Fidelity Investments and Lehman Brothers. He earned a B.A. in international relations from Bucknell University and an MBA from Suffolk University.

Michelle Cahoon

Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer

Michelle Cahoon is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions for the firm and its affiliates. She is a member of the firm's management committee in addition to acting as vice president and treasurer of the Driehaus Mutual Funds.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management in 2002, she worked for Arthur Andersen in the audit practice working primarily with financial services companies from 1987 to 2002. Ms. Cahoon left Arthur Andersen with the title of senior manager. Ms. Cahoon received her Bachelors of Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1987. She is a certified public accountant and holds the Series 27 license.

Carla Dawson

Managing Director, Human Resources

Carla Dawson is responsible for overseeing the management and operation of the human resources department. She is a member of the management committee, whose task is to guide the firm's strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management in 1997, she worked as an associate for Heidrick & Struggles from 1996 to 1997. In 1996, she worked as a research associate for Korn/Ferry International. Prior to that, she worked as a human resources assistant at Abaco Casa de Bolsa from 1994 to 1996. Before assuming her current position at Driehaus, she held the titles of college recruiter and senior recruiter at the firm. Ms. Dawson received her B.A. in Mexico City from the Universidad Anahuac del Sur in 1994. She earned an M.S. in organizational development from Loyola University Chicago in 2002 and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Maximilian Heitner

Managing Director, Risk Management and Research

Maximilian Heitner is responsible for developing and recommending risk strategies to achieve the firm’s investment goals as well as assisting in the analysis of investment ideas which meet investment objectives and portfolio requirements. Mr. Heitner also works with portfolio managers and analysts to monitor and analyze risk exposure, discuss new investment ideas and review the fundamental developments of stocks, industries, and/or geographic segments to enhance investment decision-making across strategies. Additionally, he serves on the firm’s management committee.

Mr. Heitner joined Driehaus Capital Management in 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Heitner worked at PEAK6 Asset Management L.L.C. as a senior analyst covering large cap stocks. He also worked at Magnetar Investment Management as a quantitative analyst. Before that role, Mr. Heitner held positions at William Blair & Company LLC, Tucker Anthony, and Brokerage Consultants LLC.

Mr. Heitner received a B.A. from Brandeis University and an MBA in finance and marketing from Loyola University.

Janet McWilliams

Managing Director, General Counsel

Janet McWilliams is responsible for overseeing the firm's legal and regulatory functions. As a member of the management committee, Ms. McWilliams also participates in a decision making capacity which helps guide the strategic initiatives of the firm.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management in 1994, she was a paralegal with the law firms of Querrey & Harrow and Sidley & Austin from 1992 to 1994. Initially, she joined Driehaus as a paralegal and was later promoted to senior paralegal. Ms. McWilliams earned her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2000 and was promoted to attorney and was again promoted to senior attorney. In 2006, Ms. McWilliams was promoted to chief compliance officer and assistant vice president where she was responsible for ensuring the firm's activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. She assumed her current role in 2012. Ms. McWilliams received her B.A. from Luther College in 1992.

K.C. Nelson

Managing Director, Portfolio Manager

K.C. Nelson is a portfolio manager of the Driehaus long/short credit and event driven strategies. As portfolio manager of the Driehaus Active Income Fund (LCMAX), the Driehaus Select Credit Fund (DRSLX), and the Driehaus Event Driven Fund (DEVDX) he is responsible for implementing a multistrategy approach to the credit markets with an emphasis on achieving absolute returns with limited volatility. Mr. Nelson has been quoted in numerous financial publications, including The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, and has appeared as a guest contributor on CNBC. In addition to his role as portfolio manager, Mr. Nelson serves on the firm’s management committee.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management in 2009, Mr. Nelson was a senior portfolio manager at Lotsoff Capital Management. While at Lotsoff, he managed a credit arbitrage hedge fund and a mutual fund. Mr. Nelson has also held assistant portfolio manager and analyst positions at Akela Capital, Andersen Corporate Finance LLC and J.C. Bradford & Co. He received his B.A. in economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where he was a Keller Scholar.

Dan Rea

Managing Director, Director of Research

Dan Rea is a managing director of research for the firm. Additionally, Mr. Rea serves on the firm’s management committee.

Mr. Rea rejoined Driehaus Capital Management in 2006. In his previous tenure with the firm, Mr. Rea came to Driehaus as a domestic research analyst from a position in corporate finance at GE Capital Corporation. He was named portfolio manager of the Driehaus Emerging Growth strategy before leaving to join BlackRock, Inc. as a senior equity analyst in global growth and portfolio manager of the BlackRock Global Science and Technology Fund. Mr. Rea then worked as a senior equity analyst and sector leader for Franklin Templeton’s global large cap growth team before returning to Driehaus.

Mr. Rea received a B.S. in accountancy from Marquette University.

Tom Seftenberg

Managing Director, Relationship Management and Marketing

Tom Seftenberg is responsible for coordinating the relationship management and marketing efforts of the firm. As a member of the management committee, Mr. Seftenberg also participates in a decision-making capacity which helps guide the strategic initiatives of the firm. He has over 23 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management in 1999 he worked briefly with Heller Finance, Inc. as a leveraged finance associate in the corporate finance group. From 1998 to 1999, he was an investment banking associate for the structured finance group at Nomura Securities International, Inc. He began his career with The Northern Trust Company in 1992. At the time of his departure in 1998 he was a relationship manager and bank officer in the private banking group. Mr. Seftenberg received his B.A. in political science from Wittenberg University in 1991 and completed his MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago in 1998.

Stephen Weber, CFA

Managing Director, Sales and Relationship Management

Stephen Weber is responsible for directing the firm's sales and relationship management functions. As a member of the management committee, Mr. Weber also participates in a decision-making capacity which helps guide the strategic initiatives of the firm.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management in 2006 he was vice president, global consultant relations at BlackRock, Inc. From 1999 to 2005, he worked at Columbia Management (formerly Stein Roe & Farnham), where he was senior vice president, national director of consultant relations. He started his career in institutional sales and marketing with Wells Capital Management. Mr. Weber received his B.S. in finance and international studies from Indiana University in 1992. Mr. Weber is a CFA charterholder.
